We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:

MS SQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

What will you do?
• Work alongside a cross functional team of technical resources to deliver the database layer of a new in-house built application
• Work alongside the architecture team to define the data design of the solution
• Cooperate with developers as part of the development lifecycle
• Optimise database performance
• Set up environments for the new service
• Participate in code reviews
• Provide input in meeting with project and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience as DBA
• Experience in MS SQL Server
• Experience supporting developers in optimising integration between the database layer and the application
• Experience in data design
• Strong T-SQL language skills
• Strong experience with performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience in execution plan analysis
• Understanding concurrency: transactions, locks, isolation level
• Experience on migration of databases from one server to another
• Experience in writing stored procedures, views, tables etc.
• In-depth understanding on DBA activities such as Backup, Recovery and User/Role Management
• Experience in writing scripts to automate frequent DBA tasks
• Practical knowledge of Extended Events
• Proficiency in SQL Server security and object permissions such as maintaining database authentication modes, creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users
