Azure Cloud Engineer

The Global Communications team plays an important role in supporting global operations and improving customer service and efficiency. GB combines worldwide expertise and technology to help us stay competitive. We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join our team as an Azure Cloud Engineer.
 
In this role, you will work with our central platform team on a project to migrate to a new Azure tenant. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Azure architecture, PowerShell automation, Azure networking (design and security) and knowledge of Azure DevOps, Terraform and Octopus Deploy. This role is key to successfully completing our strategic migration initiative.
 
Key responsibilities:
Azure Architecture Implementation
Understand and apply our existing Azure architecture to the new tenant.
Ensure a smooth migration of services, applications and infrastructure.
PowerShell Automation
Use PowerShell automation to simplify and automate operations tasks.
Create and maintain PowerShell scripts for various automation needs.
Troubleshoot and improve current automation processes.
Networking Design and Security
Design and implement strong network architectures in Azure.
Ensure secure network configurations.
Troubleshoot network problems and optimize performance.
Manage network security, including firewalls, NSGs and VPNs.
Azure DevOps
Use Azure DevOps for managing CI/CD pipelines and code deployments.
Work with development teams to integrate and automate deployment processes.
Infrastructure as Code
Use Terraform to define and manage infrastructure in Azure.
Maintain and improve infrastructure-as-code practices.
Deployment Management
Manage and automate deployments using Octopus Deploy.
Ensure smooth and reliable application releases.
Collaboration and Documentation
Work closely with different teams to ensure smooth migration.
Document the entire migration process, including diagrams, scripts and procedures.
Train and support other team members as needed.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Azure services, architecture and best practices.
• Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting and automation tools in Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking components and configurations.
• Experience in network design, implementation and security in Azure.
• Familiarity with tools like Azure Firewall, NSGs, VPN Gateways and ExpressRoute.
• Deep understanding of Azure security practices and compliance standards.
• Experience with security controls in Azure environments.
• Experience using Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline management and code deployments.
• Ability to integrate and automate deployment processes.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Octopus Deploy for managing deployments.
• Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
• Capable of diagnosing complex problems and finding effective solutions.

Preferred qualifications:
• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with Azure/PowerShell automation.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with other CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
