Senior Citrix Engineer

We have a unique opportunity for you to join our Citrix Lifecycle Team, part of Enterprise Infrastructure Distribute Compute. Virtual Connect is a global VDI service providing 150k+ users across 50+ countries access to a Windows 10 desktop hosted on VMware ESX accessed from thin clients and BYOD both on the network and from home. As a part of the team you will mainly be responsible for the technical delivery and support of this service, in alignment with global teams and external service providers. Further you will help us to improve operational excellence by implementing the automation of processes and workflows, that are currently manual or semi-automated.

What you’ll do
• Technical operations & service management of the virtual windows desktop (Windows 10/ Citrix XenDesktop
• Technical coordination of external service providers
• Project support and solution design for implementing business requirements
• Automation of processes and workflows (e.g. desktop provisioning, automated reports) to improve operational excellence and support project or Ad-Hoc requests

Requirements:

• Expertise on Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp
• Hand-on experience with Netscaler (firmware upgrade, certificate renewal and troubleshooting)
• Good understanding of PowerShell scripting and other reporting tools for Citrix technologies
• Expertise on Server Operating systems like Windows Server 2012/16/19
• Knowledge on Server Virtualization Hypervisor VMware ESXi, vCenter, SQL Database, SAN storage & Networking
• Knowledge regarding application and patch deployment via SCCM and compliance
• Good verbal and written communication skills as the job role involves interaction with multiple stake holders across the globe + Senior management

An advantage would be having:
• Expertise on Appsense - setting up environment configurations & troubleshooting, infra server migration and evergreen
• Understanding of infrastructure monitoring via various monitoring and alerting tools like SCOM & SPLUNK etc
• Understanding regarding VDI administration within Azure
• Awareness of ITIL & Agile processes
• Experience in managing core infrastructure evergreening and migrations

Additional requirements:
• Providing on-call support during the night and the weekends
• Readiness to take part in the implementations during the weekend
• May require working in UK business hours (11-19) during the week (once per 2 - 3 weeks)
