Responsibilities:
Develop automation solutions for delivering, managing, and operating SQL Server that can be used by the global SQL Server community.Implement and operate within a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, and build automated test scripts and API-based interfaces between systems.
Provide support for our automation, including internal cloud and APIs.
Design and implement secure SQL automation solutions.
Interpret requirements, design, deliver, and document solutions.
Have a good understanding of SQL Server essential for understanding the services with which the engineering team infrastructure interacts and which clients are using.
Ensure timely delivery of robust and secure solutions for database infrastructure.
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience in MS SQL Server DBA skills on SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 & 2019, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning for standalone, cluster, and Always ON environments.Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, security, and automation.
Strong skills in PowerShell scripting and T-SQL.
Experience working with Windows Server environments, including registry and security.
Experience with JIRA, GITHUB, Jenkins, Ansible, Confluence, Nexus.
Knowledge of additional Windows estate tools such as SCCM and SCOM is a bonus.
Experience in Go Lang, API development, Puppet, Groovy, Kong is an added advantage.
Excellent communication and interpretation skills.
Ability to interpret requirements, design, deliver, and document solutions.
Timely delivery of robust, secure solutions for data platforms infrastructure.
Innovative, self-sufficient, and capable of driving the implementation of solutions while operating within a supportive and highly collaborative SQL Server engineering team.
Demonstrate leadership on regulatory and compliance matters. Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize its likelihood, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and control.
