We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:

(Cybersecurity) DBA DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:

- DevOps delivery, including the buildout and maintenance of environments to support internal projects
- Building and maintaining large scale database systems both on-premises and cloud based
- Automating workflows and processes, especially related to keeping systems up to date
- Observability, including the design and implementation of logging, monitoring and alerting to support incident management and prevent user impact, as well as tracking and managing capacity
- Operational management including root cause analysis for major or repeat incidents and management of service delivery, troubleshooting complex issues and building root cause remediation plans
- Scrum team management, able to take on Agile lead, Scrum Master or deputy team lead duties as required
- Collaborating with stakeholders at various levels across Cybersecurity and IT teams
- Investigate and deliver innovation within the Cybersecurity team for both BAU and strategic projects
- Assist with the training, development and mentoring of colleagues within the Cybersecurity - DevOps community
- Prepare documentation and keep it up to date

Requirements:

- Strong understanding of how database engines work, with a focus on MSSQL and PostgreSQL, including high availability and reporting setups – you will be responsible for keeping these up and running efficiently and reliably
- Good knowledge of SQL and principles of database design – you will help developers optimize their queries and approve them for release into production
- Proficiency with ITIL compliant Change and Incident Management processes – you will raise CHGs and provide support for INCs and RCA

Experience and being able to work with the following will be a plus:
- RHEL and Windows Server as the OS hosts for the DB engines
- Cloud-based databases-as-a-service (we currently use GCP CloudSQL)
- Application Dynamics for host and DB performance analysis / metric collection
- Basics of IP networking
- Ansible for automating repetitive and ad-hoc tasks
- Good knowledge of scripting languages so you can automatize/optimize activities
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Delivery tools to automate processes
- Good understanding of the Vulnerability Management processes
- Windows Server OS
- Implementing and maintaining highly scalable and resilient platforms and applications
- Understanding of and experience with technologies deployed at a large scale in a global IT enterprise
- Technologies such as virtualization, containers
- Tools for secrets management, and source code management technologies: Hashicorp Vault, GIT
- Working in an Agile team – managing work in Jira and engagements in Jira Service Desk, incident and change management with ServiceNOW
- Experience of coding, scripting (bash, Python), SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and use of GitHub and code management best practices
- Experience working with Audit, and Compliance requests and procedures
- Experience taking on Scrum Master role, or in managing Jira Boards and task prioritisation
