Senior Tax Subject Matter Expert


GFC Tax team is considered as a team of experts able to support business partners in daily tax compliance as well as to streamline and standardize tax compliance processes. Therefore, it is crucial for the job holder to provide top quality tax compliance services

Key Accountabilities:

- Tax reporting including verification of tax returns (CIT, VAT, WHT, other taxes). Ensuring timely submission of all required data in line with the tax laws, procedures and KPIs
- Ensuring correct and timely submissions of all documentation and calculations for internal reporting purposes including CIT, VAT, WHT and other taxes
- Development, maintenance, control and update of procedures for tax reporting and tax filings as per group standards
- Support business partners in re-engineering of processes to achieve tax compliance excellence
- Standardize and realign processes and procedures to ensure efficiency gains, address any issues to avoid non-compliance
- Being up to date with knowledge of tax law and rules
- Smooth cooperation with team members and other peers, acting as a back up for line manager



- At least 7 years of experience in the area of tax compliance / tax advisory
- Master degree in Law/Business/Accounting
- Very good knowledge and understanding of tax rules and regulations
- Experience in the area of bank’s taxation will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excel literacy is required
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent verbal & written English skills. French language skills will be an asset
- Attention to details and problem solving attitude
- Ability to work under time pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Teamwork skills and ability to work with colleagues at all levels
- Passion for providing a high quality service to customers
- Will for constant self-development
- Ability to work under limited supervision, make sound judgements and decisions as well as prioritise tasks
- The role holder is able to act as a coach and tax trainer and support less experienced team members in the complex technical tax related questions
